Canadian Sales Taxes

Canada has three sales taxes depending on the province.

It has the GST (goods and services tax), which is charged to almost everybody on every item.

Some provinces have a PST (provincial sales tax), which is usually charged on items not for resale.

Finally, they have a HST (harmonized sales tax), which is a combination of the GST and PST, which is charged to almost everybody on every item. We added the HST to MIB over the last few years. The HST may be changed soon. Whatever it is we will work it out.
