Lost Sales by Item

Registering a Lost Sale is automatic in MIB. Whenever a clerk checks stock on an item and it shows zero for Number On Hand, the system registers a Lost Sale. Lost Sales in one quarter of the year is not nearly as important as Lost Sales in two or more quarters.

We give an example of the value of a Lost Sales for one item. Suppose that you have a part number XYZ and it has 2 Lost Sales over the last year. Suppose also that XYZ has price level 1 of $2.00, price level 2 of $1.75, price level 3 of $1.50 price level 4 of $1.40 and price level 5 of $1.00. The value of Lost Sales for that item would be $4.00 at price 1, $3.50 at price 2, $3.00 at price 3, $2.80 at price 4 and $2.00 at price 5.
