MIB Inventory Odds and Ends

The MIB part number can have from 1 to 20 characters. Usually it has a 3 character Product Line prefix followed by a slash and up to 16 characters for the part number itself. For Example, FRA/PH8A.

You can body sort part numbers. This is for those lines that have numbers interspersed with alphabet characters. The items are sorted on the numbers first and then on the alphabet characters.

You can automatically remove dashes from part numbers when they are loaded. See also section below on sorting part numbers as if the dashes and spaces are not there.

You can automatically remove spaces from part numbers when they are loaded. See also page on sorting part numbers as if the dashes and spaces are not there.

You can load part numbers with dashes and spaces but the system sorts the part numbers as if the dashes and spaces are not there. This allows your suppliers to more easily process your orders electronically because your part number looks just like theirs, and at the same time you don't need to type the spaces or blanks to access their part numbers.

You can automatically remove leading zeroes from part numbers when they are loaded.

You can automatically remove periods from part numbers when they are loaded.

Order an item only one time. You can temporarily raise the Maximum Stocking Level by whatever amount that you choose. As soon as the item is ordered this One Time Order is set to zero.  For example, an account needs 10 of an item and you have only 1 in stock and the Maximum Stocking Level is 2. You would set the One Time Order to 10 and the next time an order is run for that item, the system would order 11. One would be for the Maximum Stocking Level and the other 10 would be for the One Time Order.
